Masters of the Universe, is a 2026 American sword-and-sorcery film directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and David Callaham, based on a story by the Nee brothers, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch. Based on Mattel’s “Masters of the Universe” franchise, it is the second live-action film adaptation following the 1987 film. Nicholas Galitzine stars as Prince Adam / He-Man, alongside Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig, Morena Baccarin, and Idris Elba. The film follows Prince Adam (Galitzine) as he returns to his home planet, Eternia, to embrace his destiny as He-Man and save his home from the evil forces of Skeletor.
Synopsis
Prince Adam (Artie Wilkinson-Hunt), just ten years old, crashes his spaceship on Earth and, in doing so, is separated from his powerful magic sword, which connects him to his home, Eternia. It isn’t until nearly two decades later that he (Nicholas Galitzine) recovers the powerful sword and, thanks to its magical powers, is transported through space back to his home planet, which now looks quite different. For during his absence, Skeletor (Jared Leto) had taken over the planet and, during his terrible reign, had literally reduced it to rubble and ashes. Thus, in order to defeat Skeletor, Prince Adam must first uncover the secrets of his own past and become He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. Luckily, he can count on his closest and most loyal allies: Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan, aka Man-at-Arms (Idris Elba).
