Disclosure Day, is a 2026 American science fiction film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by David Koepp, based on a story by Spielberg. It stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. In April 2024, it was reported that Spielberg’s next project would be a film about UFOs, with Koepp serving as screenwriter. In the following months, it was announced that Universal Pictures would be the distributor and that Blunt would play the lead role. Filming took place between February and May 2025 in Atlanta, New Jersey, and New York.
Synopsis
Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) works as a weather anchor for a Kansas City television station, but she longs to take on more challenging assignments as a journalist. This wish comes true in an unexpected way when she is suddenly caught up in an inexplicable phenomenon live on air during a television appearance. While the authorities try to cover up the possibility that aliens might be behind it all, activist Dr. Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor) wants to inform the global public about the truth. The cybersecurity expert previously served time in prison for a hacking attack; he now works for the secret organization WARDEX, which archives all information on UFOs and extraterrestrial life. However, Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth), the organization’s director, wants to hide this collected information from the public by any means necessary for political reasons.
