The Mandalorian And Grogu, is a 2026 American film directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Noah Kloor. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is part of the Star Wars franchise and serves as a sequel to the Disney+ television series *The Mandalorian* (2019–2023). Pedro Pascal plays Din Djarin / The Mandalorian—who was also portrayed on set by Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder—alongside Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver. In the film, set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Djarin and his apprentice Grogu are recruited by the New Republic to rescue Rotta the Hutt (White) in exchange for information about a target.
Synopsis
Following the fall of the Dark Empire, the remaining warlords have scattered across the galaxy. As the New Republic, built upon the ruins, strives to preserve the hard-won achievements of the victorious rebellion, it receives support from Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), a seasoned Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his young protégé, Grogu. The two are tasked with rescuing Rotta the Hutten (Jeremy Allan White), while the few scattered warlords of the overthrown Empire continue to try to undermine the new order and regain power.
