The Dreadful, is a Gothic horror film written and directed by Natasha Kermani and starring Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurence O’Fuarain and Jonathan Howard. Turner told Collider that the film is based on the same Shin Buddhist parable on which the 1964 film Onibaba was based.
Synopsis
Young Anne (Sophie Turner) lives on the margins of society with her mother-in-law in the 15th century, during the Wars of the Roses. But when a man from her past (Kit Harington) suddenly reappears one day, everything changes, this gothic horror film follows a woman living in medieval English society until man from her past returns from war with a curse.
